Davis, Co-Founder and Executive Director In 2003, Louise Davis co-founded Peer Health Exchange, Inc. (PHE) with Katy Dion in order to help fill a gap left by underfunded, understaffed health education programs in public high schools nationwide. As Executive Director, Louise is primarily responsible for leading PHE's national growth plan, building and managing the PHE Staff and Boards, raising funds, and providing fiscal and organizational oversight. Louise graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History. While at Yale, she co-founded and directed Community Health Educators, the student volunteer program out of which Peer Health Exchange, Inc. grew. Louise serves on the Board of Directors of Dwight Hall at Yale-the center for public service and social justice. Bryden Sweeney-Taylor, Chief Operating Officer Bryden joined Peer Health Exchange in September 2005. As Chief Operating Officer, Bryden is primarily responsible for overseeing all PHE operations by supervising PHE sites and programs, executing PHE's national growth plan, managing human resources, designing and managing internal systems, and working closely with the PHE National Finance Manager to track budgets to organizational goals. Bryden attended Deep Springs College and graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Folklore and Mythology. Prior to joining PHE, Bryden worked as a Field Organizer for Grassroots Campaigns, Inc., recruiting, training, and organizing volunteers on environmental and political campaigns in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Angie Peluse, Director of Program Development Angie joined Peer Health Exchange in April 2009. As the Director of Program Development, Angie is primarily responsible for leading the development of the PHE program as we work to strengthen the elements of the PHE model that measurably affect teens' ability to make healthy decisions. She will do this by creating and enhancing educational, management, and evaluation tools, designing innovations to the PHE model, and assisting with the execution of program-related strategic plans. Angie graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Women's Studies and American History, and received her MEd from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After college, she received the Bryanston Fellowship to teach high school in England. Most recently, prior to joining PHE, Angie was an Associate Consultant at the Parthenon Group in the Educational Center for Excellence, where she advised both forand non-profit clients in the Education sector. Angie has also worked as a Consultant with Public Consulting Group, focusing on technology and data warehousing implementation in educational entities, served as the Assistant Women's Swimming Coach at Harvard, and volunteered as an Options Counselor at Planned Parenthood in Boston. Angie has done research in Western Europe on sexual health education and at the Harvard Graduate School of Education on multiple pathways of educational progression. Stream Wang, National Director of Finance and Administration Stream joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2009. As the Director of Finance and Administration, Stream is primarily responsible for leading PHE's finances by providing fiscal oversight for all PHE sites and by implementing inter-departmental financial plans in line with organizational goals. Stream oversees FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow processes, implements internal controls, ensures regulatory compliance, manages the annual audit, supervises finance and accounting personnel, and oversees administrative operations of the organization. Prior to joining PHE, Stream worked as an actuary at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company/Allianz, where she managed an actuarial unit with over $350 million in revenue by creating mathematical and financial models, and by providing business advisory and risk management support. She also served as a volunteer at Room to Read in San Francisco and at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Stream graduated from Stanford University with a M.S. in Developmental Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics, and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Biology. Stream was the recipient of National Science Foundation Fellowship and Stanford Graduate Fellowship and co-authored publications in top-tiered scientific journals including Cell, Nature Medicine, and Genetics. Stream is a member of the San Francisco Chapter of CalCPA. Madeline Kerner, National Director of Outreach and Development Madeline joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2007. As the National Director of Outreach and Development, Madeline is primarily responsible for developing PHE's outreach and development strategy, overseeing the systems to implement that strategy, and ensuring that PHE meets its outreach and development goals-at national, in existing cities, and for new city sites. Madeline graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History. While at Yale, she served as the Co-Coordinator of Middle School Community Health Educators, the student volunteer program out of which Peer Health Exchange, Inc. grew. Samhita Reddy, New York Program Associate Samhita joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2010. As New York Program Associate, Samhita is primarily responsible for assisting in the management, growth, and evaluation of the PHE Program at all College Sites, supporting the management, growth, and evaluation of New York City Partner High Schools, supporting PHE's New York City fundraising, and assisting the New York City Executive Director. Prior to joining the PHE team, Samhita managed the development of a medical language learning program at a health technology start-up. Her career in public health began in Portland, Oregon, where she worked with schools and local organizations to address chronic disease in high-need populations, and continued in Harlem, where she helped to raise health literacy through community outreach. Her commitment to public service is fueled by her interest in disparities in health. Samhita earned her Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. Chloe Ciccariello, Boston Program Associate Chloe joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2009. As Boston Program Associate, Chloe is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Boston Program and assisting the Boston Executive Director. Chloe graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Biology and Human Rights. At Columbia she served as a Health Educator, Leadership Council Member and Co-Coordinator for the Columbia-Barnard PHE Chapter. While a student she also interned/volunteered for several non-profits including Enlighten Action for Epilepsy in Hong Kong, Witness in Brooklyn, and Responsible Endowment's Coalition in Manhattan. Natasha Dravid, Boston Program Associate Natasha joined Peer Health Exchange in February 2010. As Boston Program Associate, Natasha is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Boston Program and assisting the Boston Executive Director. Natasha graduated from Haverford College with a B.A. in English and a minor in mathematics. Prior to joining the PHE staff, Natasha worked as at a Philadelphia microfinance organization where she made loans to entrepreneurs starting or operating micro-businesses in the Greater Philadelphia region. While in high school and college, she was also involved in various peer education programs such as Haverford College's Peer Awareness program; High Rocks, a camp for at-risk girls in Pocahontas County, West Virginia; and HITOPS (Health Interested Teens Own Program on Sexuality), an adolescent sexual health clinic in Princeton, NJ. In college, she was an active volunteer at the Women's Medical Fund in Philadelphia, an organization that helps low-income and welfare moms access funding for medical procedures not covered by Medicaid. Natasha manages Boston College and Northeastern University and can be reached at (617) 725-5251. Keri Robertson, Chicago Executive Director Keri joined Peer Health Exchange in July 2008. As the Chicago Executive Director, Keri is primarily responsible for developing, managing, growing, and evaluating PHE college and high school sites in Chicago and providing fiscal and organizational oversight for the PHE Chicago site. Keri graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in English. Prior to joining PHE, Keri spent two years as a NYC Teach for America corps member; during this time she taught seventh grade Literacy at MS 390 in the Bronx and received her Masters in Education Alexandra Lozanoff, Chicago Executive Director Alexandra joined PHE in July 2009. As the Chicago Program Associate, Alexandra is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Chicago Program and assisting the Chicago Executive Director. Alexandra graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History. While a student, Alexandra taught public speaking to Penn undergraduates with the campus program Communication Within the Curriculum. Prior to joining PHE, Alexandra was a field organizer with the Illinois Public Interest Research Group, conducting media work, coalition building, and lobbying to pass public interest legislation at the state and federal level. Brett Baker, Bay Area Executive Director Brett joined Peer Health Exchange in April 2010. As the Bay Area Executive Director, Brett is primarily responsible for developing, managing, growing, and evaluating PHE college and high school sites in the Bay Area, and providing fiscal and organizational oversight for the PHE Bay Area site. Brett received a B.A. in Economics for Business Management from Occidental. After college, Brett spent two years as a Teach for America corps member in Avondale, Arizona. During this time there, he taught eighth grade Math and Science and received his Masters in Education. Prior to joining the PHE team, Brett was a City Hall Fellow in San Francisco working on the creation and implementation of locally funded solar initiatives, as well as an eighth grade teacher in East Palo Alto. Braden Lake, Bay Area Program Associate Braden joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2010. As the Bay Area Program Associate, Braden is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Bay Area Program, and assisting the Bay Area Executive Director. Braden graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology, concentrating in Global Health and Human Rights. Prior to joining PHE, Braden worked as the Fellowship Program Director for the Global Health Corps. She also served as an event coordinator for Face AIDS, interned at the National Institutes of Health, and conducted research for the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre in Cape Town, South Africa. Emily Gasner, Los Angeles Executive Director Emily joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2009. As the Los Angeles Director, Emily is primarily responsible for launching, developing, managing, growing, and evaluating PHE college and high schools sites in LA and providing fiscal and organizational oversight for the PHE Los Angeles site. Emily graduated from Stanford University in 2009 with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to joining PHE, Emily interned at NARAL Pro-Choice California, the ACLU of Northern California, and Human Rights Watch. She was honored by Planned Parenthood in June of 2009 for her work as a student activist throughout the year. |
