by, with, and for young people

Founded in 2003, Peer Health Exchange aims to build healthier communities with young people. Peer Health Exchange’s mission is to build healthier communities with and for young people. Together, we create education opportunities for peers to share the tools and resources young people need to make healthy decisions.

Opportunities for Youth

Join the Youth Advisory Board

At Peer Health Exchange, our mission is to build healthier communities with young people, so we can't do our work without you! We need young people ages 13-18 to advise us on how to get reliable, factual, and important health information out to youth. As a Youth Advisor, you’ll be paid to build leadership and professional development skills and join a national network of young people passionate about transforming their communities by creating meaningful social change! We particularly encourage those who identify as BIPOC, Latinx, and/or LGBTQIA+ to apply.

Youth Advisory Board Opportunities

We believe that an important part of our role in promoting health equity is amplifying youth voices and their leadership and using our institutional influence to ensure more adults are actively listening to young people. In keeping with this commitment, there are many ways for young people to partner with us!

All opportunities are paid and you will be partnered with a PHE staff member for any support needs.

Description
Peer Health Exchange is working with Surgo Health to build a Youth Mental Health Tracker(YMHT), a comprehensive tool designed to monitor and improve youth mental health. Surgo Health just ran a survey gathering the experiences of over 5000 young people on their opinions and experiences with mental health and wellbeing. Now, we want to talk to young people more directly to make sure your voices are correctly represented in our findings.

Eligibility
This opportunity is available to young people aged 13-19 and living in the US. These will be one-hour online interviews (on Zoom) with a Surgo Health interviewer. You can share as much as you want or skip any questions you aren’t comfortable with. This will be an opportunity for you to develop and strengthen skills in research and evaluation, collaboration, and communication. Click the "Sign up" button if you're interested.
