Peer Health Exchange is incredibly grateful for a wonderful Night Out for Health fundraiser event in New York City. The event took place Wednesday, March 5th at The Bowery Hotel in Manhattan. With a panel, speeches, networking, and over delicious bites, the event raised awareness and support for youth health education. Guests listened to speeches by students and advocates about the importance of youth-led education and access to critical resources nationwide.
CEO Angela Glymph, PhD, inspired the crowd, saying "In my experience with young people, I constantly encounter glimmers of hope through our work at PHE which is a clear reminder that our impact is significant and that our mission will and can be realized.” Guests got to dive into the organization’s critical work, and hear young people’s stories.
Sherri Shepherd was honored as the Peer Health Exchange 2025 Youth Champion. She shared about the importance of youth-centered work. “We have our coping mechanisms, but the young ones don’t. Peer Health Exchange understands that our young people are attempting to function in the tyranny of brokenness, in a broken care system that does not prioritize their mental wellbeing. It is organizations like Peer Health Exchange that are proactively rising to the challenge of addressing the needs of the next generation and future leaders. Donate whatever you can to Peer Health Exchange so that the work of this organization can continue to flourish,” she encouraged.
Despite the rainy weather, there was positive energy throughout the evening and music from Abby the DJ kept the vibes upbeat. It was an amazing occasion, and brought together philanthropic, health, and youth leaders committed to improving health outcomes for all young people. Couldn't make it in NYC? Don't worry, the night is still young. A Night Out for Health is continuing in Boston on Wednesday April 2nd, 2025. We would love to see you there!
