Peer Health Exchange Boston is thrilled to announce it has received $75,000 over three years from Boston Children’s Collaboration for Community Health. The grant to Peer Health Exchange is part of Boston Children’s Hospital’s distribution of $5 million to 16 funded partners through its Collaboration for Community Health. This distribution is a portion of the hospital’s commitment of $53.4 million to support community organizations and public agencies to improve the health and well-being of children and families in Greater Boston. Funds will be distributed over the next 7 –10 years as required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Determination of Need program.

The grant allows Peer Health Exchange to expand our volunteer base to our newest chapter at The University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB). The University of Massachusetts Boston is the state school that many young people from the Boston area attend. By opening a chapter at UMB, Peer Health Exchange will be able to engage volunteers who that not only reside in the city of Boston but also shared the lived experience of many of the young people that Peer Health Exchange serves. Over three years we hope to build a strong, vibrant, and diverse UMB chapter.
