Maverick James is an associate in the New York City office of Lewis Brisbois. He is dedicated to assisting clients in responding to data security incidents and creating comprehensive privacy protection protocols. Prior to joining Lewis Brisbois, Maverick represented insurance carriers as coverage, claims, and monitoring counsel and negotiating resolutions to complex matters, including claims arising from data breaches. In law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Joan M. Azrack in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Honorable Andrea Masley in the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division, and also interned with the New York Kings County District Attorney’s office in the cybercrime division. Maverick participated in the Cyberharassment Clinic at New York Law School, the only clinic in the country dedicated to representing victims of cyberharassment, and providing innovative solutions.
